Your MasterCard Corporate Purchasing (CMU Business Mastercard) card provides auto rental insurance at no additional charge. The MasterRental insurance covers enrolled cardholders who decline the collision damage waiver offered by the rental agency and reserve and pay the car rental charge with the MasterCard Corporate Purchasing (CMU Business Mastercard) card. Coverage is on a 24-hour basis for damage due to collision or theft and protects you for up to 31 consecutive days for business use. The insurance is primary and provides coverage up to the market value of the vehicle, not to exceed $50,000 per incident. A. A cardholder whose name is embossed on a valid MasterCard Corporate Purchasing (CMU Business Mastercard) card and any additional drivers permitted by the car rental agreement are covered.
     
4. Q. Is this primary coverage?.
A. Yes, this coverage is primary and provides coverage up to $50,000 per incident for which the cardholder or any other authorized driver is legally responsible to the rental agency on a primary basis.
     
5. Q. What is the fee for this coverage?
A. There is no additional fee.
     
6. Q. What is the maximum length of car rental covered under this program?
A. Enrolled cardholders are covered for up to 31 consecutive days for business use.
     
7. Q. How do I activate coverage?
A. Coverage is automatically activated when you decline the car rental company's collision damage waiver (or similar option) and complete the entire rental transaction with your MasterCard Corporate Purchasing (CMU Business Mastercard) card.
     
8. Q. When and where am I covered?
A. Coverage is available on a 24-hour basis, in the United States and in most foreign countries. Coverage is not available where prohibited by law. You may be unable to use this service in Australia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, and New Zealand. Because regulations vary outside the United States, it is recommended you check with the car rental company before you travel to make sure your MasterRental Insurance will apply.
     
9. Q. What type of rental vehicles are not covered?
A. Excluded worldwide are expensive, exotic and antique automobiles; Limousines; All trucks, pickups, full-size vans mounted on a truck chassis, campers, off-road vehicles, and other recreational vehicles: Trailers, motorcycles, mopeds, motorbikes and any other vehicle having fewer than four wheels; Coverage is provided for only those vans manufactured as "Minivans" and designed to transport a maximum of nine people and used exclusively to transport people.
     
10. Q. What do I do if I have an accident or the rental vehicle is stolen?
A. Immediately call 1-800-MC-ASSIST or 1-800-622-7747 to report the loss. If you are outside the United States, use AT&T Direct and then 1-800-MC-ASSIST or 1-800-622-7747. The MasterCard Assistance Center will answer any questions you or the car rental agency may have and will send you a claim form.
     
11. Q. How do I file a claim?
A. You, the cardholder, are responsible for reporting your claim to the MasterCard Assistance Center at 1-800-MC-ASSIST or 1-800-622-7747 within 30 days of the incident or your claim will be denied. The MasterCard Assistance Center will send you a claim form. The claim form and any other required documentation must be submitted to the MasterCard Assistance Center within 180 days of the incident, or the claim will not be honored.
